It’s not been a good couple of weeks for ex-Celtic defender Mark Wilson.

He has overseen two defeats out of two at Brechin City and as a result has lost his job as reported by SunSport.

Wilson and Brechin finished bottom of the league last season but were spared relegation due to the pandemic.

Giving Wilson the start of the season to turn things around only lasted two matches before the Brechin Hierarchy has pulled the plug on the Scot.

Wilson spent six years at Celtic amassing 98 appearances.

His finest hour was probably knocking out Glasgow rivals out of the Scottish cup with a spectacular strike which knocked out Sasa Papac.

The former pro will likely head back to his pundit chair on SSB where he’s resided for the last couple of years. Management doesn’t work out for everyone but it’s a struggle for lower league Scottish teams, no budget or resources means it’s difficult to get going.
