Former Celtic player, Massimo Donati has insisted that Celtic are ‘still better’ than city rivals, Rangers and has urged Neil Lennon’s men to take things one game at a time. It’s the sort of thing we’re used to hearing from pundits who like to fawn over the club across the city.

Speaking to the Italian Football Podcast, Donati spoke about how this Celtic side needs to forget the fixation about 10 in a row and focus on getting the season back on track by taking it on a game-by-game basis instead.

“Celtic have a lot of pressure on them. We knew that before the season started as no one has ever won 10 In A Row.

“At the same time, Rangers look better than they have been in the last seasons. They are more focused and they are not dropping many points right now.

“I think Celtic have time to get back into it. They just need to focus on winning each game, game by game.

“I think they are still a better team than Rangers. They just need to think about each game, and not about the 10 In A Row.”

On paper, most would probably have a more than fair argument that this Celtic side has better players than what Rangers, in terms of individuals.

This season, it really isn’t working though and we simply aren’t gelling as a side. You cant use the excuse of putting money into the recruitment because, despite the hard times of this pandemic, money has been put into it.

It goes deeper than that at this stage and falls down to other factors such as the coaching. We have seen in recent years, this team are good enough so we need to get back to our best form again.

  1. If Celtic win the next couple of games and the Scottish Cup. That should silence most of their doubters. But most teams fans know that losing a local derby at home, is a death sentence to the tabloids and antisocial media.
That’s tribalism for you. Worse that Covid, as you can’t go out and be seen in public with your top on for months.
