Former Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie may have left Glasgow in the summer, but that certainly doesn’t seem to have affected his support for the club.

Like many players last campaign, Christie suffered from what was an extremely disappointing year at Parkhead.

Despite making a decent start under Ange Postecoglou this season, the 26-year old chose to complete a move down south to English Championship side Bournemouth after going into the final six months of his deal.

However, the midfielder doesn’t appear to have lost his Celtic connection, showing his support for his former teammates in a local Celtic supporters club down south, and was pictured with a couple of fans during Wednesday night’s comprehensive 3-0 win over Glasgow rivals Rangers.

Things might not have ended the best for Christie at the Hoops, especially given the disappointment of the 2020/21 season.

But, it is great to see the Scotland internationalist out supporting his former teammates and management, who he played his part under in the first few games of the season.

There were plenty of ex-players all over social media showing their support for the Hoops in the aftermath of the derby victory, with Christie being one of them.

I’m sure that if we are back lifting the title again at the end of the season, the midfielder will be welcomed back for his early contributions to the season.

For now, though, that is thinking too far into the future, and the focus for all involved at Celtic right now remains on the next game, tomorrow afternoon against Motherwell.
