ODSONNE EDOUARD is struggling for form, with his last goal for Crystal Palace coming in January, in the London Club’s 3-1 defeat against Liverpool. As a result of his form, the former Celtic striker hasn’t started a game since the 20th of March.

After his debut brace, Eddy has only netted the ball five other times. Pretty disappointing, given his start.

The former Arsenal midfielder, Vieira, who is the manager of Palace, has announced he will stand by his player and that the former Celtic talisman still has his place in the squad, saying; [Football Scotland]

“He had a really good start and played good football.

“I think he had a bit of a dip and we have other players around who play well.

“Now he has to keep fighting. He will play in the next couple of games.”

Edouard was Celtic’s top goalscorer last season yet was still castigated for downing his tools. He was a terrific player when he was on his A-game.

Palace fans will hope that he can refind his form and start bagging in the goals as they push for a top-half finish.

Celtic still managed to get a substantial fee for the player, despite having just twelve months left on his contract. The club have reinvested the money and built a new team, bringing in Kyogo and Giakouamkis, and on current form, I know who I’d rather have leading the line.

  1. Was great for Celtic until he started to get the adulation then sadly thought he didnt need to work any longer & believed his own hype.

Should be at a top European club but attitude is all wrong.

    • That was always my issue with him, he seemed a touch lazy. Given the choice I would have let him go and would have kept Dembele instead.
