ANTHONY STOKES has struggled to get going with his new side Apollon Smyrni after three games without a goal and just one win.

The Irishman signed for the Greece outfit at the start of February after being released from Hibernian.

In an unusual move Stokes decided to ply his trade in the lower end of the Greece Super League and so far it has been tough for the former Celtic man.

His new side sits second from bottom after 24 games.

Stokes signed an 18-month deal and will hope to get on the scoresheet sooner rather than later. It can take longer for players to settle the more they’re out their comfort zone.

We wish him all the best.
