FORMER Celtic Midfielder, Liam Henderson has opened his account for new side Verona as the club ran out 2-1 winners in Serie B.

The former Celtic youth star has been enjoying life in Italy since moving there back in January.

Liam started his Italian adventure with Bari FC but due to the club not meeting their financial obligations they entered administration and the player was free to leave.

He then joined up with his former Bari coach Fabio Grosso at Verona and after four games the club are top of the pile in the Italian second tier.

Liam opened the scoring against Crotone on Saturday and in doing so got his first goal for the club.

Henderson is already very well travelled having had spells in Norway and he’s also won the Scottish Cup with Hibernian when he was a pivotal part of the team who beat Rangers* 3-2 on that famous day.
