The 61-year-old had stood down from his previous position at Birmingham City back in 2024, as it was later confirmed that he had been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
According to the Telegraph, Mowbray is speculated to be holding talks with his former side, West Brom, who are currently sitting 7th in the EFL Championship. The English side had recently sacked their manager, Carlos Corberan, back in December and is currently being managed by former Northern Irish and West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt.
Most Celtic fans will remember Mowbray’s time in charge at Parkhead as poor with the team’s form, including a disastrous 4-0 away defeat to St Mirren, which inevitably cost the Englishman his job.
Prior to managing the club, Mowbray had worn the green and white hoops and played for the club 77 times during the early 90s before moving down south to Ipswich Town.
He made his first steps into management with Ipswich before moving north of the border to the Capital becoming Hibernian manager in 2004.
He gained his first major success as manager of West Brom when he steered them towards winning the EFL Championship and promotion to the Premier League in 2008.
Although his time was cut short at Celtic, Mowbray has continued to work at the highest level, and it looks like he’ll be starting his next chapter in management.
