He is probably one of the most forgetful signings we’ve made in the last ten years by Logan Bailly has nothing but good memories of his time at Celtic.

The Belgian goalkeeper who was brought in to challenge Craig Gordon under a Ronny Deila in 2015 never really managed to get the beat standard required to challenge Craig.

Bailly has no regrets about the move and recognises why he wasn’t kept on.

“It was only happiness and beautiful moments. I will always hold this club in my heart. The number one was Craig Gordon, who was the Scotland national goalkeeper and who had arrived from Sunderland. At 36, he’s still there.” Bailly told Les Sports.

“I understand why Celtic didn’t extend my deal. It was better for me to go and play elsewhere, but no one can take away my four trophies from me”.

Celtic’s goalkeeper depth is night and day between then and now. We have three recognised first team goalkeepers vying for the position. Fraser Forster was brought in on loan this summer and now looks like the proffered number one to Craig Gordon and Scott Bain.

It’s early days yet but Neil Lennon obviously brought Forster to the club before and now he has again. It’s hard to not seeing Fraser being favourite.

Bailly will go down in Celtic history as pub quiz question.
