Celtic signed Josip Juranovic less than twelve months ago. The versatile full-back has already attracted the interest of Premier League clubs south of the border, but Celtic have yet to receive an official approach for the player.

Fabrizio Romano broke the surprising news but wasn’t precise, failing to name any interested clubs. It does cast some doubt if his information was accurate.

Former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish believes that the player’s head has been turned, and he’ll push for a Celtic exit this summer. As quoted by Football Scotland, the ex-boss said; [Football Scotland]

“If he is being courted at Premier League level in England, I would say that’s the best league in the world.

“That has to turn a player’s head. Juranovic has only had one season there and that’s quite a surprise to hear Premier League clubs are interested.

“If the richest clubs in the world come in, it is hard to turn them down, that’s just a fact. They just can’t match the revenue in Scotland.”

Juranovic’s Head Isn’t Turned.

No more than a few months ago, the Celtic player admitted he was happy at the club and was looking forward to the title defence season. It’s hard to believe that his mind would’ve changed so quickly, especially with Champions League group stage football to look forward to.

Jura signed a five-year deal when he arrived at Celtic last summer, so the club hold the cards if there are to be any negotiations this summer.

  1. The auld chestnut ‘ how long is a piece of string ‘ comes to mind. If Jose gets a move that he (or his agent, partner, Celtic suits or father) like. He will be off. Nothing wrong with that you say, and I know Anger is trying to build something good at Paradise. But money in the hand is worth many, many trophy’s in the captains bush!!!!!
All players (and managers) have prices on their backs, if met, they will leave. Such is life.
