Celtic are rumoured to be monitoring LOSC Lille and Guinean international striker Mohamed Bayo as speculation about his future intensifies.

According to a post on X from Africafoot, former Guinean international Souleymane Youla has publicly advised the French-born forward to consider a move to Celtic.
He said: “If he has to leave Lille, Scotland would be the best destination for Mohamed Bayo, because Celtic Glasgow plays in the Champions League just like LOSC. And above all, it is one of the best clubs in the country, present every year in C1. The Scottish championship is not so bad.”
The 26-year-old has also reportedly attracted interest from Spanish side Las Palmas and Italian club Como. However, Youla has suggested that a switch to Scotland could be more beneficial for Bayo, citing the allure of playing Champions League football as a key factor.
Youla, who played primarily in Turkey during his career and had a brief stint at Lille in 2007, retired in 2019 at the age of 43. The retired forward’s endorsement adds an intriguing twist to the rumours surrounding Bayo’s next move.
Bayo first made a name for himself at his hometown club, Clermont Foot, where he became the top scorer in the 2020/21 Ligue 2 campaign with 22 goals. He carried that form into Ligue 1, netting 14 times in 32 matches.
However, the striker has struggled to replicate that success since his big-money move to Lille. Reports suggest that Bayo is now seeking a fresh start during the winter transfer window.
While Celtic have been linked with the player, it’s important to note that these reports remain speculative. As of now, there is no concrete evidence to confirm that the Parkhead club has officially expressed interest in signing the Guinean international.
