FORMER Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko has posted his delight on Instagram about Celtic and his current club hitting top of the table.

The Danish star who left Celtic permanently this summer for a return to his homeland was wearing his Celtic training gear and had his club issued FC Midtjylland as he pictured both together with the tagline ‘No.1 in Denmark and Scotland’.

Erik was a fan favourite during his time at Celtic, he became a fixture on the park as well as off it and even though he has moved away. The defender still keeps in touch with goings on at Celtic even now and is proud of his old and new club!

FC Midtjylland and Celtic are both top of their respective leagues and both there on goal difference at the moment.

Celtic have a game in hand to go three points clear of nearest rivals Hearts where  Midtjylland currently have Copenhagen breathing down their necks.

Erik won the title with the Danish club last season and they’re looking to repeat the feat this year.

We wish him all the best!
