Former Celtic flop Youssouf Mulumbu has made a swift exit from Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

As reported by the Scotsman Mulumbu was reportedly unhappy about his first-team opportunities under Tommy Wright and has now departed the club, despite them facing another leg in their Premiership play-off final against Dundee on Monday.

After a conversation between the Congelse midfielder, Wright and Killie director of football James Flower, it was agreed between the trio that he would leave the club early, even with his manager hoping he would stay for Monday’s crucial fixture.

Mulumbu’s time in Scotland has been very up and down. After a successful first six months in Ayrshire, the Hoops decided to sign Mulumbu late in the window.

In the 2018/19 campaign, the midfielder played just three times. Once against his former club and the other two appearances coming in Europe against RB Leipzig and Salzburg.

Now after departing Kilmarnock, it is unlikely that Mulumbu will keep his playing career up in Scotland. At least, we will be hoping we don’t see him rocking up late in the summer window like a few years ago, that’s for sure.
