It wasn’t a good weekend for Celtic but we’ve not had many good weekends in the past year.

One bright spark which could pay dividends next season for Celtic is the continuing emergence of Celtic defender Leo Hjelde.

The centre-back who can play at left-back has been loaned out to Ross County and he’s thriving under former Celtic defender John Hughes who has been doing well for the Staggies since he came in.

Leo managed to get on the scoresheet in a 3-2 win at the weekend, after the game, John was singing the Celtic youngster’s praises, claiming Leo’s going to go on to big things.

“I’m delighted for Leo.

“He found himself out of the team a little bit, then came on there and got his goal.

“He’s destined for big, big, big things. He won’t be far away from the Celtic first-team when he goes back, but this is what he needs to be doing.”

Currently 17, Leo will be 18 August this year, could he be a bright spark and breakthrough star of this new era? It could look like a fantastic piece of business to get the youngster in back in 2019 from Rosenborg.
