CELTIC have been looking to get their reserve side in the lower leagues.

It’s been touted for years but the club, alongside their Glasgow rivals, were hoping for a positive reaction to the latest attempts to make this happen.

Money incentives and guarantees of the teams not being allowed past League One have been put on the table.

Celtic Colt Plan.

For Celtic, it’s about giving their reserve side competitive games and allowing the team as a whole to work in a system close to the first team so when they are called up, they can make the transition much easier.

Before it gets to a lower league vote, the decision has to go through all SPFL clubs and must earn an 11-1 vote for things to progress.

The Scotsman is reporting today four clubs in the Premier League, well three clubs and Hearts who are on their way back up, are unsure of the proposal and would likely vote it down.

Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hibs and Hearts will all put their objections forward meaning the Colt idea might not even make it to the first vote.
