According to reports over the last 24 hours, former Celtic and Hibs defender Efe Ambrose could be on the brink of a short term move to Derby County.

Frank Lampard is keen to add to his squad even though the window has closed and apparently sees Ambrose as worthwhile signing to help him the rest of the season.

Efe is free to sign and be registered with any club because he terminated his Hibernian contract before the window closed. The former Barca beater had a clause in his Easter Road deal which enabled him to get his release six months before his contract was due to expire.

Hibernian tried in vain to keep the Nigerian but he had already made his mind up about leaving the club.

Efe has split opinion over the years, he was part of the side who famously beat Barcelona 2-1 at Celtic Park back in 2012, his acrobatics are famous but so is his ability to make an absolute clanger.

We wish Efe all the best if he makes the move.
