Celtic confirmed that ‘bigger and better’ opponents were in place for Ange’s Homecoming Tour in Australia during the World Cup later this year.

When The Rangers pulled out, Aussie fans were concerned that the tournament would collapse and they wouldn’t get to see Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic in his home country. Many down under believe that Ange Postecoglou is one of Australia’s top exports.

Everton had a tough season last year, serving in the Premier League by the skin of their teeth. Lampard will be hoping for a better season this year, an attempt to guide Everton into the top half of the table, but losing some key players won’t help his cause.

The English manager had some high praise for Ange Postecoglou, admitting he was stunned by his debut season in Scotland. [Daily Record]

“I’ve got an awful lot of respect for what Ange did last season at Celtic. It isn’t easy to hit the ground running in a league you’ve not worked in before.

“He did that really well, winning the title with a very definite style of play – a really exciting brand of football.

“It is hard to explain the atmosphere of an Old Firm game. The rivalry in Glasgow is one of the fiercest in world football and Ange embraced that challenge. It was a big achievement for him last year and it was impressive to see the way he went about it.”

Celtic Has a Top Manager

Ange Postecoglou is a great manager. He’s been sensational since he arrived last summer, from his recruitment to his playstyle and the way he addresses the media and the fans. No one can have any complaints.

In all honestly, Ange is one of the best managers in world football.

He’s expressed his desire to manage the national team after Celtic, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have an offer from a top European side that challenge yearly in the Champions League.

That’s a pretty bold statement to make. In terms of as a person, I certainly agree, but as a coach…let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. I love the guy and I’m hopeful that I’ll be in full agreement with you come the end of a long European adventure this coming season but until then let’s ease off on the hyperbole a tad, yes?

I’m sure you’re right about him gaining admiring glances, I’m sure he has already and certain clubs will be monitoring him closely as we speak.

I will say that I found the way he set the team out to all-out attack regardless of the opposition last year did mightily impress me and I think our problem was that the team just wasn’t quite 100% there yet. I don’t know if we’ll get out of the CL group or not but maybe a Europa place after Xmas (or whenever it will be due to the WC) would be a good step forward I’d say…
