After completing his move to Tottenham Hotspur, Fraser Forster has praised his experiences at Celtic as he looks forward to getting started under Antonio Conte in North London.

Forster signed for Celtic on four separate occasions with his most recent spell at the club coming under Neil Lennon as the Hoops went for a second historic 9 in a row with the English goalkeeper once again pulling off some phenomenal performances.

It was hoped that Forster would make his loan deal permanent at the end of season 2019/20 after football across the world was shut down but this didn’t turn out to be the case which many have pointed to as the beginning of Celtic’s demise.

With Hugo Lloris currently being the captain of Spurs, it will be difficult for Forster to break into the first team but he appears to relish the challenge.

“Hugo is a fantastic goalkeeper who has achieved so much in the game,” added Fraser, capped six times by England. “It’s up to me to come in, to work hard and bring my qualities to the group. I’ve plenty of experience, played a lot of European football when I was up at Celtic and, being one of the older ones, I can bring that experience with me, work hard, look to improve, and help the team and the squad,” said Forster speaking on Tottenham’s club website.

Celtic supporters know all about Forster’s qualities in European football with his standout performances coming against Barcelona and Lazio. It is hoped that his former England goalkeeping counterpart Joe Hart will also be able to to come up with some big performances as Celtic make the venture back into the UEFA Champions League group stages.
