Reports this morning suggest Fraser Forster is set for a sensational return to Celtic.

The English goalkeeper has been surplus to requirements at Southampton for the past two seasons and it looks like he could be rejoining his former Celtic boss back at Parkhead.

According to Record Sport, the player is set to undergo a medical before rejoining the club.

Forster left Celtic five years ago for around £10million and after a great start to his Premier League career, an injury hampered his progress.

At 31, the goalkeeper wants to get back playing football. Considering he’s on a large wage packet at Southampton, he would most likely have to take a pay cut at Parkhead, either on loan or a permanent deal.

Fraser would be Neil Lennon’s sixth signing of the transfer window. Many fans would be happy to have him back but others never like when players return.

Again, this is just a report at this time and not completely substantiated.
