It’s being reported this Wednesday morning that Fraser Forster is currently thrashing out his future with Southampton with everything being clearer in the next 48-hours.

RecordSport have made the claim Celtic should know sooner rather than later if bringing Fraser back is a viable option.

The goalkeeper is no longer a Celtic player but there’s a hope among the support and Neil Lennon the big man can be signed on a permanent basis.

Speaking a week or so back, Lennon said:

He said: “We’re hopeful they’ll (Fraser and Moi) be around but that’s a conversation we’ll have to have with Southampton and with the players individually.

“We’d want to keep them if we could. It keeps that continuity going rather than maybe going out and bringing other players in.

“If we could keep the services of those two, they know how we work and what the club is all about. They made really good contributions. Fraser was absolutely brilliant and Moey, up until the injury, was fantastic.”

Fraser was sensational for Celtic last season but as we know, the big keeper doesn’t fit into Celtic’s transfer model. At a time where everyone is cutting their cloth, it would have to be a great deal for Celtic to bite.

The club are looking to press on with shaping their squad for next season. Fingers crossed Fraser can make his return. Moi would be another thing altogether, while fans wouldn’t mind seeing the winger back — he’s not the priority.
