SHANE DUFFY has come in for some criticism since coming into Celtic but his performance against Sparta has tipped many people defending him over the edge.
Celtic went down to a Sparta Prague B team at Celtic Park with the most woeful defending you’re likely to ever see. The game ended 4-1.
The third goal had people wincing as Shane Duffy was floored and couldn’t handle an onrushing attacker.
The whole team looked lethargic but the mistakes in defending have been embarrassing and pathetic in equal measure.
That’s 13 goals conceded in six games for Celtic, utterly unacceptable and while we can sympathise with the player, we can’t support his constant inclusion in the team when everyone is fit.
The defeat to Sparta Prague is as shocking as it gets for Celtic who stumble from one European disaster to the next.
The fans haven’t taken this result well, and nor should they. It’s an embarrassing and infuriating result.

Celtic need to forget about the Europa League. It’s only a distraction this year and I wanted them to exit Europe early this year to concentrate on the 10 in a row.The 10 in a row is all that matters and Celtic need to forget their abysmal, insipid play to now. Next season Europe is crucial however. Time to concentrate on doing the basics, a 100 percent work ethic and perfect fitness levels.
Rangers will tire as the season goes on and Celtic will get fitter and much better. This happened last year.
No more excuses from now as regards SPL games.
Wipe the slate clean and forget the bad performances even happened, taking 1 game at a time.
The season is on life-support. We will be 10 points behind them in the league by Sunday and after we play our games in hand we will manage to be around 12c behind them by christmas. The defence is a joke. Duffy is abysmal. He should be dropped from now on and the only games he should play in are in youth teams in the EL. Rodgers was right to go when he did the team is dying and is almost dead. They are streaks ahead of us, what a run they are on. Its November and they are unbeaten in all competitions. Away wins in Europe, while we are shipping 9 goals in 3 home games. Lenny should have resigned weeks ago. He cannot turn it around, a new vision is needed. I would also advocate seeding our European place for a year or two to save us from more humiliation. Shameful. The team don’t give a toss. For all of his faults Griffiths is about the only player interested. Eduoard has chucked it and it was obvious retaining Forster was key to success this year but they spent 4.5 million on a dud and are now reduced to using the back-up goalie who is not very good. Confidence is shot because the deficiencies and weaknesses are easily exposed by any average team. Action needed to be taken weeks ago. The manager is a major problem and key players need to be flogged in January. The league will be gone by then so preparation for next season should begin.
