Celtic have been linked with a move for Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman who is currently on loan at Swansea in the Championship.
This isn’t the first time Woodman’s name has come up at Celtic over the past few years and the Newcastle Chronicle is linking the bhoys with a move for the stopper this summer.
Woodman has played the full season with Swansea who sit just outside the play-offs in the Championship. It’s thought his Newcastle career is limited and with not much interest in keeping the player at St James Park, there’s an opening there for the Scottish champions.
Woodman has kept 12 clean sheets in the championship and has been finally getting solid game time at a good level.
Celtic once brought Fraser Forster in from the Newcastle reserves and we all know what a find that was. Not comparing the two but Woodman fits the profile for Celtic; young, hungry and probably available on-loan!
Could this be the man to replace Fraser Forster?
