EFE AMBROSE let Celtic a little over two years ago and since then the player has played for Hibernian and had a short stint at Frank Lampard’s Derby at the back end of last season.

However, the Nigerian is now without a club and has yet to settle his future in the game.

The defender who became somewhat of a cult hero at Celtic has insisted the next move he makes will have nothing to do with money and even revealed he turned down a contract from a side in Turkey which would have seen the player make more than he did in his Celtic days.

“I have had some great times in Scotland. My times there, with Celtic and Hibs, were amongst the best of my career and if there was interest there then it is something I would definitely consider.” Ambrose told RecordSport.

“I have had some offers. I had a big-money offer from Turkey that would have seen me earn more than I did at Celtic but it just didn’t feel right.”

Efe was part of the famous squad that beat Barcelona 2-1 back in 2012 and will always have a special place in history because of his part in that victory.

His Celtic career was up and down with many silly mistakes masking the fact he was a very competent player at times.
