Former Celtic loan defender Jason Denayer is on the lookout for a new club after leaving Lyon this summer after a four-year stint at the French club.

Jason spent 14/15 season at Celtic Park under Ronny Deila, where he partnered with a certain Virgil van Dijk.

After his loan stint at Celtic, Jason went back to Manchester City before competing three years on loan with Galatasaray.

With the season already well underway, it’s surprising Jason doesn’t already have his future sorted out.

SunSport reports Wolves have contacted the player about a return to England. Given Jason is a free transfer, a deal can be done for the Belgian AFTER the transfer window has closed.

He’s clearly waiting to see the lay of the land and may get a better deal further down the line when players and clubs start to make quick decisions on personnel.

Jason had a good season at Celtic back in the day, and many fans wished he’d stuck around a bit longer. At 27, the defender is coming into his peak years; someone will surely take a punt on the player.
