Celtic are reportedly interested in making a move for French striker Jean-Kevin Augustin.

According to reports from media outlet Homme du Match in France, the Hoops are looking into the possibilities of bringing the Nantes frontman to Scotland.

The report states that Augustin will be considered as a possible replacement for Odsonne Edouard who is expected to leave the club within the coming weeks, with interest from English Premier League side Brighton.

Turkish side Fenerbahce, a side which Celtic could face in later rounds of European qualifying, is also quoted as a side interested in the 24-year old.

Augustin has played for some big clubs in Europe, starting his career, similarly to Edouard with PSG.

He had also featured and scored against Celtic when the club faced RB Leipzig in the Europe League back in the 2018/19 season.

If Edouard was to leave, despite what some fans might have to say about his recent performances, he would need to be replaced.

The 24-year old was the club’s top goalscorer last season, and we need another frontman who will be able to step up and score the goals that Edouard did.

Fingers crossed, we can see more movement in the coming days and weeks as Ange Postecoglou looks to add to the options available to him in his squad.
