Former Bournemouth head of recruitment is reportedly a target for the vacant position of sporting director at Celtic ahead of the summer rebuild.

According to the Daily Mail, David Webb who has also held roles at clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Huddersfield and Scandinavian side Ostersunds has become another target for the role to take the club forward.

There are a lot of encouraging signs when it comes to Webb being a candidate for the job and seems like he could be very well suited too it.

He has a reputation of having a good knowledge of markets such as the English and Scandinavian, both market that Celtic will need to be shopping in and have in the past.

Another encouraging sign could be in regards to the next manager. Webb, of course, worked alongside Eddie Howe who has been linked for the job and many fans have expressed their desire to see him become the next permanent boss.

Whether it be a Sporting Director or a Director of Football, this next appointment could be crucial in what direction the football club goes and finally, it now seems to be headed into the future.
