Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has addressed the criticism aimed at his team after their 3-3 draw with Dundee at Dens Park midweek, a result that left many fans questioning the team’s recent performances on the road.

The Hoops have now won just one of their last four away games, prompting concerns about form during a packed fixture schedule.
Speaking ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Cup clash with Kilmarnock, Rodgers was accepting in his assessment of the team’s recent struggles but defended his players, citing the relentless schedule as a key factor in the dip in performances.
Tuesday’s game marked Celtic’s seventh match in just 20 days—a gruelling run.
“We have to accept critics,” Rodgers told Celtic TV.
“But, like I say, if I look at the bigger picture of what the players are coming off, I think that it’s also respecting that there comes a point in a season where any team, no matter how good a season you’re having, or no matter how bad a season you’re having, you’ll hit a little bit of a wall.
“It’s natural, it doesn’t matter how good you’ve been playing or not, you’re going to hit a little wall. I felt that probably on Tuesday, on that seventh game in 20 days, was maybe that point.
“Listen, we have to accept the criticism, whether we like it or not. I think, like I said, when you draw a game or lose a game, it’ll sting. But for us, it’s all part of being at a big club. You have to accept it, whether you agree with it or not.”
Despite recent away struggles, Celtic remain 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and are well-positioned to secure another league title. However, Rodgers will be keen to address the concerns surrounding his team’s performances on the road as they prepare for crucial upcoming fixtures, including their Champions League decider against Young Boys next week at home.
A win on Wednesday should see Rodgers’ side book their place in the knockout round for the last 16 of the tournament, a great feat from the side.
Young Boys are struggling in Switzerland at the moment, so Celtic should have a good chance at a result.
