Some Celtic fans might have had some concerns today to see two newbies making their league debuts. Nir Bitton was making his first league appearance of the season while young Euan Henderson was making his first ever Celtic start.
That’s two big changes with the likes of Brown and McGregor missing. Brown was suspended and McGregor injured. Added to that was the form Motherwell was bringing with them to Celtic Park this afternoon. The Steelemen were on a six-game winning streak in the league.
It only took the first half for fans minds to be put at ease, with young Henderson shining bright and getting himself an assist to boot. Most Celtic fans were in a complimentary mood for the latest youngster to break through from the academy.
First time I've really seen Henderson other than wee spells at the end if games, looks like a proper player?

I really like Ewan Henderson. Fantastic cross and some great vision.

Henderson has looked quality in this first half, good first touch and tidy on the ball & a great cross for our second goal.

Was told 3 years ago that Ewan Henderson was "frighteningly good" by one of the youth coaches
Can see why such praise was given to him even then. The boy is destroying Motherwell here

Henderson and Bitton have both been excellent.

The success of the Celtic academy is there for all to see. With Callum McGregor, James Forrest and today’s captain Kieran Tierney all first team champions. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping young Henderson is the next academy player to make the break as a permanent first-team fixture.
