JEREMIE FRIMPONG is no longer a Celtic player this evening after his move to Bayer Leverkusen became official on early Wednesday evening.

This transfer deal has moved pretty fast since Neil Lennon let the media know the player was abroad looking to finalise a move away from Glasgow.

The deal is now done and it’s a significant piece of business for the club.

Celtic paid around £300k for Manchester City but early reports claimed they would be getting £11.5 from Bayer for the defender,

Kicker is now reporting the fee is around about £11.9m with bonuses over the length of Jeremie’s Bayer contract. There’s no word if Celtic have a sell-on clause in the deal but going by past deals, it would seem certain the club will get a chunk of any future fee.

The same publication also claimed Manchester City are due 30% of the transfer fee received by Celtic.

Jeremie had one full season at the club where he helped the team to treble, he leaves Celtic with three winners medals and a lot of fans.
