CELTIC has released a load of youngsters on Friday.

The duo of Luca Connell and Ryan Mullen were soon joined by Kerr McInroy, Ross Doohan, Jonathon Afolabi, Barry Coffey, Karamoko Dembele and Brody Paterson, leaving Celtic on the expiry of their contracts. [SunSport]

Ewan Henderson will also leave the club, but this was arranged in January. The player has been on loan at Hibs for the remainder of last season and will join the club permanently in the summer.

Leaving Celtic is a lot of talent that has failed to make the cut. It’s frustrating for Celtic fans that so many players are leaving without living up to their expectations, especially Karamoko Dembele, who was touted to be one of the best prospects in world football.

These are just a few of the expected departures from Celtic. Postecoglou will look to continue his rebuild by trimming his squad of the deadwood, like Barkas, Ajeti and Soro. A couple of others will likely head for the door.

Then, Postecoglou can focus on his incomings and bring players who will add quality and depth to the squad.

    • Agree Tommy, looked like he was going to get the chance to prove himself last season until his injury. A real talent who will shine somewhere.

  1. Yes always a sad time when their dreams are shattered but we wish them all the best. If Ange says they are not up to it ,thats good enough for me.

  2. Good to see Celtic making these critical decisions for the betterment of the club and for the futures of these players; no point having them hanging around the club if they have no chance of making the first team here, and it lets them try forge careers for themselves elsewhere.
