NEIL LENNON revealed over the weekend he DID in fact try and bring Victory Wanyama back to Celtic during the summer transfer window but was thwarted before the deal got off the ground.

Wanyama looked all set to Leaver Spurs during the window with Club Brugge looking like the players most likely destination. However, that deal dragged on and as the window was coming to a close there was genuine hope Celtic could pull something off.

The window passed with nothing happening on that front but the Celtic manager revealed it wasn’t because they didn’t ask the question.

Neil Lennon has also gone one further and claimed the club could make a renewed attempt to bring the former Celtic midfielder home in January.

Some Celtic fans have reacted to the news Victor could be set for a January homecoming and there are not many people against the idea.

Wanyama’s wages would be an issue. Spurs preferring to sell the Kenyan on a permanent deal would also be a stumbling block. It does seem very unlikely, but you never know.

The player left the club back in 2013 for £13m (TransferMarkt) could we get him back for less?
