Gavin Strachan has sent a message to the Celtic support on social media as he says his goodbyes to Peterborough. The coach was officially named as the successor to Damien Duff on Monday evening and he’ll be joining up with Neil Lennon and the Celtic squad shortly.
The coach is on twitter and wanted to say thanks to the Posh for his time at the club, wishing them well in the future. He then turned his attention to Celtic and proclaimed he can’t wait to get started.
Thanks for the messages. Good luck to everyone at PUFC. Great club who I owe an awful lot. Fantastic staff, players and fans who I will miss. Too good an opportunity to turn down and can’t wait to get to started at such a huge club.

It will be a massive step up for the coach who saw his Dad take on the managerial hot seat over a decade ago.
Gordon was a success at Celtic and his son will want to make sure he can help with the future success of the club.
As we’ve said numerous times on this site, the coach coming in was always going to have big shoes to fill and it will be up to Gavin to show what he can do.
We wish him the best of luck.
