Gavin Strachan was offered the manager’s position at Hartlepool today it has emerged.

The Celtic coach came in for immense criticism last season under Neil Lennon.

This season, Strachan has flown under the radar with Ange allowing the first team coach to fo about his business quietly on the training ground.

The first we really seen of Gavin was the Christmas ad when he was poking fun of his infamous laptop.

Top journalist Alan Nixon has confirmed the coach was offered the chance to manage English side Hartlepool but has turned down the role.

Gavin is obviously buying into what’s happening at Celtic with Ange Postecoglou and wants to stay to help bring the Hoops success.

The former Peterborough coach might feel like he has unfinished business at the club.

There was a clamour for both Gavin Strachan and John Kennedy to leave the club in the summer. Fans wanted to make sure any new man coming in was allowed to choose his own staff.

CeltsAreHere was told by an impeccable Celtic source, Ange had had complete autonomy from day one when it comes to who works with him. The manager has opted to keep both men at the club and they’re helping to deliver Ange’s new philosophy.
