Over the past week, Celtic look to have been in a race with German side Werder Bremen for Greek and VVV-Venlo striker Georgios Giakoumakis.
Fans were given the latest update into the current on-goings behind the deal by Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.
It has been suggested that Celtic could be in the prime position to sign the 26-year old with Breman struggling to finance a deal for the striker and currently looking at other options they could recruit.
The report also states that talks between the Dutch side and Celtic are thought to be ‘progressing well’, with Venlo looking to have a 15% sell-on fee included in any deal.

Last season, Giakoumakis finished as top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie, impressively scoring 26 goals in the campaign which his current side was relegated.
