We are now well into February and we are still dealing with the fallout from a game in December, SFA efficiency at its best. Last years Glasgow derby painted some ugly scenes at the final whistle, despite the Ibrox said earning their first-ever win at Paradise they just can’t help themselves.

It was the usual Alfredo Morelos antics that started everything. The forward dived in the dying embers of the game only to get caught in the act, get a red card from Kevin Clancy and then make cut-throat gestures to Celtic fans on his way off the park.

That lead to a touchline bust-up between the Celtic and Rangers dugouts.

Gers coach Michael Beale has broking away from the usual Ibrox denial and deflection tactics and has admitted he made a mistake by accusing ref Kevin Clancy of cheating. He also said he should never have questioned the official’s integrity, ironic when you think why Morelos got sent off.

Speaking with the Daily Record the Gers coach said the following:

“I called the referee’s integrity into question and have accepted that I could not accuse him of cheating. The incident with John was nothing and is now resolved.”

“We have a long-running relationship from 2011 when I visited Scotland to educate coaches for the SFA in my Chelsea days. There is no animosity between us at all.”

The SFA handed out a five-match ban but suspended two.
