Kris Boyd has admitted he has sympathy for Celtic boss, Neil Lennon saying that the others involved in the club, deserve a brunt of the blame which he feels they haven’t received.

Writing for his weekly column for Sun Sport, the former Killie striker said that after Thursday nights embarrassment, Lennon should get criticism but also feels that his squad  of players and also to some extent the board, have not got anywhere near as much as they should have.

“But I think too many others are getting away with murder, particularly their absentee landlord and their chief executive. As for Peter Lawwell, if he had allowed Lennon to surround himself with his own people then maybe this current situation could have been avoided.

“I do actually have a degree of sympathy for the Celtic boss. Of course he has to accept his share of the blame for the team’s malaise, but I don’t see many critics also pointing fingers at the players or the board.

“They are equally at fault for the crisis engulfing the club. Lennon is the one being used as a shield to protect all the other under-achievers and poor decision-makers at Parkhead.”

There has been a lot of talk and criticism after what was a horrible night on Thursday and I’m sure most Celtic fans will be trying to get it out their mind at this stage.

It really was a pathetic display and the worst part about it is we weren’t even surprised with how it took place.

Everyone deserves a bit of the blame for what was a terrible result and probably up there with one of our worst in Europe.
