GIORGOS GIAKOUAMKIS has become Celtic’s new agent in his latest comments. The Greek striker revealed that he had pleaded with Jota to stay at Celtic after the Hoops lifted the trophy on the last day of the season.

Both players have had exceptional seasons in Glasgow. Giakouamkis arrived after a brilliant season in the Dutch top flight. Despite his side getting relegated, he still finished top scorer in the league. After a tricky start at Celtic, he regained his goal-scoring form.

Jota has contributed to twenty-seven goals this season, cutting in from the wings. He’s been deployed on both wings and has been a joy to watch. His tricks and flicks have left defenders looking silly.

Jota has a clause in his contract that gives Celtic the option to make his stay permanent. The club are looking to activate this, with reports suggesting a positive outcome is on the horizon.

As quoted by The Sun, Giorgos Giakoumakis revealed his private chats with Jota, urging him to stay at Celtic, the joint top scorer in the league said;

“I am happy with every goal, no matter how I score. I told Jota when we were out there celebrating, I said, ‘I wish you’ll stay here because we really need you.’”

Hopefully, Giakoumakis’ words of wisdom will come true.

  1. Guess that means, no more biscuit tin from the cheese board. The suits (and their wives and children) can do without all their dreams of avarice.
    Means more home success, but not as many failed European cup runs though.
