Giakoumakis has been ruled out of the Hampden Semi-Final against The Rangers on Sunday but we now know the extent of the injury and when we’ll see the big man back in action.

Ange Postecoglou briefed the media on Friday ahead of Sunday’s tie and while the news in the short term is disappointing, long term, Giakoumakis should be back to the SPFL title run-in.

The Greek forward has been instrumental in Celtic’s form during the second half of the season. The doom and gloom lifted by Giakoumakis after Kyogo went down with a serious injury.

Kyogo is back fit now and will certainly play a part in the semi-final at the weekend. It’s a blow not to have Gorgios for the game but given it was hamstring problem, it could’ve been much worse.

The striker could return for Celtic’s game against Ross County next week and be available for the final derby of the season at the beginning of May at Celtic Park.

Hopefully the bhoys who are fit can do the business on Sunday.
