GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS has continued his confident comments after Celtic wrapped up the league on Wednesday night at Tannadice.

Earlier in the season, the Greek striker stated his belief that Celtic were the best team in the country, and they would show this by winning the league. The former Dutch league top scorer was right; Celtic did finish top of the table, showing they were the best in the country.

Giakoumakis has continued voicing his confidence and believes his comments were justified, telling CeltsAreHere;

“We had great games. At the point that I made that statement, I believed so much in my team.”

It’s great that Giakoumakis has this confidence and is more than happy to express it.

Giorgos then provided us with a strong statement, assuring supporters that his team didn’t end up in the position they are in by chance;

“From the first day I set foot in here until now, I believed we were playing very good football and we had good players.

“Nothing happens by luck in football. So I think we deserved it [Winning the league] and I’m really happy about that.”

A lot of hard work has went in on and off the field for Celtic to wint his title. Ange Postecoglou brought new ideas to Celtic, and a playing method that was unique.

However, the players are now reaping the rewards as they prepare to party on Saturday night.
