The last time Celtic played at Ibrox they were outplayed for almost 90 minutes. All their troubles seemed to fester around their own back line. Callum McGregor was playing left-back and Filip Benkovic left the field of play in the first half and Lustig was replaced by young Anthony Ralston.

Craig Gordon, Boyata and Mikael Lustig put themselves under enormous pressure trying and failing to play the ball out from their own goal line. In saying that, big Boyata has been Celtic’s most solid defender this season. After reports emerged from the Belgium internationals camp that the defender had left the party due to “personal reasons”, Celtic fans might have been living with a bit of fear for their Glasgow Derby’s back four.

It now looks like the towering centre back will be available for Neil Lennon next Sunday. Record Sport has reported today that Dedryck is ok for the third derby of the season at Paradise. This will be a huge boost as Celts await news on Keiran Tierney and Mikael Lustig injuries.
