Celtic’s up-and-coming Glasgow Derby fixture against Rangers has been handed a referee reshuffle, with Bobby Madden now set to officiate the fixture at Parkhead.

With the original date for the Derby set on January the 2nd, Willie Collum was the first referee who was to be involved in the game before the winter break was brought forward to boxing day.

However, as reported by Sun Sport, with the fixture now taking place a month later at the beginning of February, Madden will now be the man in the middle of what could be a crucial fixture in the context of the season.

The last derby fixture which Madden was in place for was last seasons Scottish Cup tie between the sides, which saw the Ibrox side come out on top after a disappointing campaign for the Hoops.

But, in the referee’s last league Derby league game, it was more of a success for Celtic, with Neil Lennon’s side coming out as 2-0 winners that day in 2019.

Of course, before the game gets underway, we still await confirmation as to whether this game will go ahead due to the potential international call-ups within the Celtic squad that could lead to a postponement.
