Football could be closed to the public again if the Scottish government come to the conclusion that mass gatherings can’t take place in the short term future.

Scotland and many other countries are looking to impose new restrictions on the way we live our lives to curb the latest outbreak in the pandemic.

Behind closed door football is soulless and serves very little purpose – if there are to be no more mass gatherings for the next month the SPFL and SFA should look to shut the game down for the winter break early.

Celtic fans will not welcome being locked out again while their team has to go on without them.

There’s a massive Glasgow derby coming up and to not have the support in the stadium for that would be bad news for the Hoops.

Hopefully calm and rational decisions are made about where Scottish football is going in the next month or two.
