ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed a brilliant injury boost ahead of the Ross County game and the Glasgow Derby by declaring Giakoumakis is back fit and available for selection.

The big Greek didn’t even make the squad for Sunday’s 9-0 thrashing. When the squad initially came out, there was a slight panic from Celtic fans on social media. Firstly, in case the big man was injured for any period of time, and secondly, the transfer window is still open until September 1st.

Ange quelled fears pretty sharpish by declaring Giakoumakis was suffering from a bug.

It looks like the striker has recovered quickly and could make his first start of the season against Ross County in Dingwall.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Ange confirmed the news, and he also made it known he will be making changes:

“Giako is back fit. He trained today and yesterday; we’ve got a fully fit squad. Yes, I’ll make some changes tomorrow; I’m not sure how many. It’s about trying to put out a team that I think will get to the level of performance I think we need to get to.

“Quick turnaround for Saturday, Ross County away is always tricky anyway. You get back pretty late, or pretty early in the hours of the next morning so with all that in mind, we’ll make some changes tomorrow.

“Again, with a view that it’s a team that can perform at the levels we need to.”

Ange Postecoglou used the League Cup last season to help propel his Celtic side to greater things. After beating Hibernian 2-1 at Hampden to secure his first trophy, Ange set about making his team formidable in the league. Without their main man Kyogo who scored a brace in the League Cup final, Celtic went on to win the league.

It’s great to have Giakoumakis back for the Derby at the weekend. He gives us something different and will likely play at some point during proceedings.
