Neil Lennon has delivered an injury update ahead of the Glasgow Derby tie this Sunday. Speaking after Celtic’s win against St Mirren on Boxing Day, the Celtic manager was keen to stress anyone who has been out for a long period of time with an injury will 100% not make the game – even if they were over their injury.

That means Mohamed Elyounoussi and Hatem Elhamed will play no part in proceedings on Sunday with Celtic likely lining up how they did against St Mirren.

“In terms of Elhamed and Elyounoussi I doubt it very much.” Neil Lennon told RecordSport.

“So it’s basically as you are today plus the squad as a whole, the subs and that.

“So no, no new faces. Anyway, they’ve been out of the game too long to come into a game of that magnitude.”

Celtic ran out 2-1 winners against St Mirren but the scoreline flattered the home side. Celtic were in full control for most of the game and it was wicked deflection from a free kick that got St Mirren a very late consolation goal.

Hopefully Celtic can turn more of their chances into goals over the next few months and at the very least against The Rangers this weekend.

  1. Hey who ever is fit for the game if they get on the pitch they better give there all for 90 plus mins as they are thinking they are coming to win on our patch,we may be on a run of win games but we could score more goals but never do we let teams back into games when it should be door shut game over but no we run out of energy after 60 mins in games and defend for more than 20 mins and hang on for some wins, they are coming for a win and with there high energy they bring we could be under more of the same like the last game we played them we need our players to show up as a team its our home game and no one comes here and wins we need a free flowing Celtic team like in Lazio home game, look this is a very high octane game where we must keep a cool head play as one and get the rest of the season off to a flyer with our own high energy and skill do them here and its ours the time has come to be men and show our fans and the rest of the world watching what a Celtic team can do….
    Do this Celtic do it…..
