CELTIC have another two games before the SPFL showdown in Govan at the start of 2021, that must not be forgotten. These games won’t take care of themselves and have to be given our full attention.

With two games before taking on Gerrard’s side, we have the opportunity to give Leigh Griffiths as much game time as possible to get him as sharp as he can be for the away day.

For me, on current form, there’s only one man for the job when we look to revive our title hopes. Odsonne Edouard’s finishing has deserted him this season, he’s passing up so many opportunities he would have buried over the lats two seasons.

Leigh seems to be on his way back up after an embarrassing start to his season when he came back unfit from lockdown. There’s been a reluctance to let him back into the side from Neil Lennon but given his contributions when he has had a chance, Leigh an’t ignore the Celtic frontman.

He has two games against Hamilton to prove he’s there, fitness wise, and if he gets among the goals in these two games, there’s no denying him a space in New Year fixture.

You can always play Eddy and Leigh in the same side but other parts of the team are weakened as a result. If Edouard can’t deliver the goods, he needs to spend some time on the bench.

  1. You can say that about Eddie and yes he hasn’t been at his best. However, not forgetting the lingering effect of any virus, the supply has started again and Eddie is now getting chances. Like Griffiths and any good striker, good supply equals more chances and the more chances the sooner a good striker starts bagging them. If we continue with mid-field improvement, which prior to Soro and Turnbull incidentally has added to defensive woes and gone unnoticed for the most part, we can return to the standards of last season from our strikers. Bertie Auld said after Larson left, that with the supply of ball to the box, any incoming striker should be able to do a job. He was right as with Hartson, Sutton (already at that time) and others.
