Celtic fans are awaiting clarity on the future of their talisman Kyogo Furuhashi, with reports of a potential £10m move to Rennes dominating headlines. Adding fuel to the fire, a private jet sent from Birmingham to Glasgow earlier this morning is scheduled to depart for Rennes later today.

While there is no confirmation that the flight is connected to the Japanese striker’s rumoured move, the timing of this development has sparked speculation among fans already on edge about the possibility of losing one of their star players.

Kyogo’s Imminent Exit?

The 30-year-old striker has been instrumental for Celtic since joining the club under Ange Postecoglou. It’s reported he wants to play in a top-five European league to enhance his chances of playing in the World Cup with Japan.

Rennes have been heavily linked with the forward in recent days, with Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph reporting that the French side are in advanced talks with Celtic. If the move materialises, it would be a significant blow for Brendan Rodgers, who will need to move quickly to replace the striker before the January transfer window closes.

Private Jet Raises Eyebrows

The private flight has only added to the tension surrounding the situation, with fans taking to social media to speculate about whether Kyogo could be onboard. While private jets flying between cities are not uncommon, the destination of Rennes – home to the Ligue 1 side reportedly pursuing the striker – has led many to connect the dots.

If the private jet is indeed linked to Kyogo’s potential move, it would suggest that negotiations are nearing completion. However, as of now, there is no concrete evidence tying the flight to Celtic’s No. 8, leaving fans to speculate further.

Whether Kyogo leaves or not, Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic board face a pivotal moment in their January planning. Reports of a move for Danish striker Mathias Kvistgaarden, as well as a potential return for Jota, suggest contingency plans are already in motion.

  1. If Celtic let Kyoko go in this transfer window it will clearly show they have no ambition in Europe. By all means in the summer but if they let him go now they should all be sacked. He is also worth a lot more than 10 million also.

  2. Jota is not a striker, and letting your only goal scoring striker leave at this point in the season shows money, not football, rules Celtic. Nothing we didn’t already know I guess, a football team supporting a business, rather than the other way around.
