Celtic began a new chapter this evening as the 2021/2022 league season kicked off with a trip to Tynecastle. New manager Ange Postecoglu is in the hunt for his first win after a draw and a loss in Europe went on the CV with a patched-up Celtic squad.

The Australian will be relieved to be adding two new faces tonight with defender Carl Starfelt straight into the team while forward Kyogo made the bench.

There has been bad blood between Celtic and Hearts down the years and a trip to Tynecastle on a Saturday night is a tough enough start to try and notch up the first win.

The last time the teams met was in the cup final and that took extra time and penalties for Celtic to be crowned quadruple treble winners.

Celtic got off to the worse start when old Bhoy Gary Mackay-Steven got gifted a goal from the usual nightmare Celtic defenders to give the home side a 1-0 lead they held until halftime.

When Celtic’s leveler came it was from a surprise finisher as right-back Anthony Ralston cropped up with some great determination, control, and a finish to boot.

  1. Done nothing since scoring. Look like we are waiting to go behind. A draw is not good enough. It is a problem even at the start of the season.

  2. Make no mistake not to win is a disaster. Confidence is shot. 2 wins in 8 games. No wins in competitive games. Poor Ange will not survive this. 3 points behind after 1 game. He will get buried by everyone. Time is already running out and it is August 1st. Good grief. How much more. Long time to next May. 10 months watching nothing. Welcome to the banter years.
