According to Sky Sports News, Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dorus de Vries is in Glasgow having a medical with Celtic this morning.

It had been rumoured that Brendan Rodgers has been in the market for a goalkeeper for a couple of weeks now and it now looks like he’ll get one.

Dorus de Vries played for Rodgers at Swansea and it remains to be seen if the 35-year-old will be coming in as first team goalkeeper or a back up to Gordon.

The goalkeeper had a stint in Scottish football with Dunfermline in the 06/07 season and won Forest’s Player of the year last term.

We will keep you updated as the story develops.

  1. Was outstanding the year Swansea went up, spent a few years in the wilderness but has been solid ever since he singed for Forest. I think he’ll challenge for no. 1 jersey he wouldn’t be the first keeper in the world to sign for a club in his mid 30’s and go on and have 2 or 3 good seasons. Obviously Rodgers doesn’t see anyone younger who fits the bill.

  2. Could be the new Ronnie Simpson. Remember him?
He (if signed) and Bailly (when fit) will be the challengers for No 1.
