It has been a tough few months for Ange Postecoglou in terms of players available for selection. Every time the manager gets a few players back others hit the treatment table. It seemed like January could not come fast enough for the manager and with 4 new players added early doors it looked like Celtic could push on.

But between fresh injuries and international duties, Celtic are not going into today’s Glasgow derby with their full firepower. In saying that, the players that have come in have not disappointed.

The good news this week from the manager was that Celtic captain Callum McGregor and striker Daizen Maeda had “a chance” to feature in tonight’s clash against the team from Ibrox. The bad news was that Tom Rogic and Kyogo would 100% not be an option.

Nir Bitton is suspended for the derby after being sent off in Celtic’s last-gasp win over Dundee United on Saturday. Yosuke Ideguchi is still struggling with an ankle knock, David Turnbull and Albian Ajeti will be missing with hamstring injuries.

The teams have just been announced officially and this is the Celtic team tonight for a crucial game of football at Celtic Park:

There you have it, Captain Cal Mac is back in. Maeda has also made the bench and should feature at some point after only playing the last twenty minutes for Japan. James Forrest drops to the bench and Jota starts.
