Journalist Alex Crook who covers clubs down south and in particular Southampton has claimed the club is ‘relaxed’ about the potential of Celtic keeping hold of their players a little longer.

Fraser Forster and Mohamed Elyounoussi are both on loan at Celtic Park this season but both are due back at St Mary’s this summer. Given the current worldwide crisis and the shutdown affecting most leagues, there’s a scenario the season could be finished after loan deal has expired.

If that was the case, Crook claims Southampton would likely allow the pair to see out the season in whatever form that took

Speaking to talkSPORT as cited by the Daily Record, Crook said:

“Neil Lennon has come out and said we really need them to stay to the end of the season whenever that may be.

“Because they are both under contract Southampton are pretty relaxed about that.

“If they have to extend their loans I think they will so that’s good news for Celtic.”

Moi has been injured for a lot of the season but did play his part early on. He was arguably just hitting his stride when he sustained the injury.

Forster has been a pivotal player for the bhoys this season and has made some more Celtic memories during this loan spell. If Celtic can get the goalkeeper on a permanent deal beyond this loan, supporters would be ecstatic.
