Celtic under 17s started off a good week for our under age teams by lifting the Glasgow Cup in a game against Rangers. It only took one goal to separate the sides and that came late in the game when Aidan Nesbitt found the net for the home side. It was the first time in over 3 years the academy team have lifted the trophy. Sadly most of the headlines were stolen by Rangers fans the following day after they ripped up seats at Celtic Park and set of flares. It was a terrific results for the under 17s and I’m sure they enjoyed the occasion regardless.
The under 20’s who are involved in a 3 way league battle with Hibs & Rangers is looking like it’s going to go to the last game of the season. They young Celts needed a win at St Mirren to stay in the hunt which they just overcame with a 2-1 win at Paisley. Their last two games are against Rangers (H) and Dundee Utd (A), if they win both games they will win the league. A crowd of 8,000 showed out for the under 17’s Glasgow Cup final, hopefully the under 20’s will receive the same support minus the idiots.
